The Buckhorn Ranch has strived to develop the most efficient winter feeding system around. Excellent feed bunks have been installed in Lightning Creek and other areas which allows for less labor and feed cost. Winter feeding is done in basically 2 areas:

  • Unit 1 at Lightning Creek & Box Canyon
  • The remainder of the cows will spend the winter at Crow Creek. The calves are in the feed lot on Crow Creek.
